RECIPE OF THE WEEK: ONE-PAN CHEESY SAUSAGE SKILLET

Easy, cheesy and the perfect way to use Maddock Ranch Meat's country sausage! 

INGREDIENTS

Maddock Ranch Country Sausage, sliced

1 medium onion diced up

1 red, yellow, or orange bell pepper (optional)

1 tbsp minced garlic

2 cups chicken broth

1 10oz can of diced tomatoes (with our without chiles)- We like it with a little kick so we use Rotel

1/2 c milk or heavy cream

8oz penne pasta

Salt and pepper

1/3 block of cream cheese

1 cup or as much as your heart desires of shredded Cheddar Jack cheese

DIRECTIONS

  1. Melt butter in pan, add onions, peppers and sausage, cook until sausage is slightly browned
  2. Add chicken broth, tomatoes- don't drain, milk/cream, cream cheese, pasta, and seasoning.
  3. Bring to boil and simmer until pasta is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed
  4. Turn off heat and stir in 1/2 of cheese then let rest of cheese melt on top!
  5. Enjoy!
