RECIPE OF THE WEEK: PHILLY CHEESESTEAK PASTA BAKE

INGREDIENTS

1 lb ground beef OR Cube Steak

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp garlic powder

1 green bell pepper, diced

onion, diced

3 cups cooked pasta (penne or rigatoni)

2 cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese

1 cup beef broth

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

OPTIONAL:

1/4 block of cream cheese

1/4 cup cream with the broth

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F

  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and green bell pepper, and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. In the same skillet, add your ground beef OR cube steak and cook until browned. Make sure to liberally season your meat with salt, pepper and garlic powder while browning it. Leave the beef juices from cooking the meat in the pan for the sauce.

  4. Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. OPTIONAL: But I couldn't help myself so I added a 1/4 block of cream cheese and 1/4c cream with the broth

  5. Add the cooked pasta to the beef mixture, stirring to combine.

  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
