Merck Animal Health COVEXIN 8 Cattle and Sheep Vaccine is for the vaccination of healthy cattle and sheep as an aid in the prevention of Blackleg, Malignant Edema, Black Disease, Red Water, Enterotoxemia, and Tetanus. This tetanus vaccine for cattle, sheep and goats is ideal for annual use. Do not use this tetanus vaccine for sheep, goats and cows within 21 days before slaughter. This tetanus shot for goats, cattle and sheep should be administered using aseptic technique for best results.

COVEXIN 8 Shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy cattle and sheep against disease caused by Clostridium chauvoei, C. septicum, C. novyi Type B, C. haemolyticum (known also as C. novyi Type D), C. tetani and C. perfringens Types C and D.

Indications
For the vaccination of healthy cattle and sheep as an aid in the prevention of diseases caused by Clostridium chauvoei, C. septicum, C. novyi Type B, C. haemolyticum (known also as C. novyi Type D), C. tetani and C. perfringens Types C and D.

Immunity is also provided as an aid in the prevention of diseases caused by the beta and epsilon toxins of an additional organism, C. perfringens Type B. Although C. perfringens.

Dosage
CATTLE: 5 mL injection administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly followed by a second 5 mL dose given six weeks later. Revaccinate annually with 5 mL prior to periods of extreme risk or parturition.

SHEEP: 5 mL injection administered subcutaneously followed by a second 2 mL dose given six weeks later. Revaccinate annually with 2 mL prior to periods of extreme risk or parturition.

  • Cattle: inject 5 mL of vaccine SQ or IM, repeat in 6 weeks.
  • This tetanus vaccine for cattle, sheep and goats is ideal for annual use.
  • Calves under 3 months: should be revaccinated at weaning or at 4-6 months of age.
  • Pregnant ewes should receive 2nd vaccination or annual booster 2-6 weeks before lambing.
  • Sheep: inject 5 mL SQ, followed by a 2 ml dose in 6 weeks. Revaccinate annually with a 2 mL dose.
  • This tetanus shot for goats, cattle and sheep should be administered using aseptic technique for best results.
  • Covexin 8 is for the immunization of sheep against diseases caused by Cl. Chauvoei, septicum, haemolyticum, novyi, tetani and perfringens types C and D.
