Norbrook Noromycin 300 LA is a low-volume, broad-spectrum antibiotic used in beef cattle, non-lactating dairy cattle, calves (including pre-ruminating veal calves), and swine. Injectable antibiotic in a sterile solution for cattle and pigs provides broad-spectrum coverage of seasonal diseases. Economical, versatile antibiotic features a unique formulation for single-day or multi-day treatment. The single-day or higher dose range (9 to 13.6 mg/lb) allows flexibility for multiple treatment protocols. In cattle, can be dosed at 13.6 mg/lb as a single intramuscular or subcutaneous injection to keep antibiotic levels above minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) for at least 7 or 8 days against BRD associated with Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica. Effective for the treatment of a variety of diseases including gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. Use for the treatment of pneumonia and shipping fever complex associated with Pasteurella and histophilus, pinkeye, foot-rot, diphtheria, scours caused by Escherichia coli, wooden tongue, leptospirosis, wound infections and acute metritis caused by strains of staphylococcal and streptococcal organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline. In swine, it is indicated for the treatment of bacterial scours, colibacillosis caused by Escherichia coli; pneumonia caused by Pasteurella multocida; and leptospirosis caused by Leptospira pomona. May be given to sows as an aid to control infectious enteritis (baby pig scours or colibacillosis) in suckling pigs caused by Escherichia coli.

  • 28-day slaughter-withhold for both cattle and pigs.
  • Since bacteriostatic drugs may interfere with the bactericidal action of penicillin, it is advisable to avoid giving Noromycin 300 LA in conjunction with penicillin.
  • Multi-day therapy: do not exceed 4 consecutive days of treatment.
  • Store at controlled room temperature 20 to –25 °C. (68 to 77 °F); excursions permitted 15 to –30 °C (59 to –86 °F). Protect from freezing.
  • For 100-ml size: Use within 60 days of first puncture and puncture a maximum of 24 times. For 250-ml and 500-ml sizes: Use within 60 days of first puncture and puncture a maximum of 36 times.
  • If using a needle or draw-off spike larger than 16-gauge, discard any remaining product immediately after use.

Cattle: 13.6-mg/lb as a single IM/SQ dose or 9-mg/lb to 13 mg/lb as a single IM/SQ dose.

 Cattle and calves:  Administer 3-ml per 100 lbs in the muscle or subcutaneously. May be given  IV (3 to 5 mg/100 lb) but use caution, administer slowly over a period of 5 minutes.  May be given once daily up to 4 consecutive days. A single dose may be given intramuscularly or subcutaneously at a rate of 9-mg/lb of bodyweight. Or, 13.6-mg/lb (4.5-ml/100 lb) of bodyweight as a single IM/SQ dose to treat BRD associated with Mannheimia haemolytica.

Swine: 9-mg/lb as a single IM dose or 3-mg/lb to 5-mg/lb as a one-time daily IM dose.

Swine: Administer 3-ml per 100 lbs, intramuscularly. Maximum 5-ml per injection site.

Sows (prevention of piglet enteritis): Single dose of 3-mg/lb bodyweight about 8 hours before farrowing or immediately after farrowing. For swine weighing 25 lb of bodyweight and under, Noromycin 300 LA should be administered undiluted for treatment at 9-mg/lb but should be administered diluted for treatment at 3 or 5-mg/lb. To prepare dilutions, add one part of Noromycin 300 LA to three (3), five (5) or seven (7) parts of the sterile water, or 5% dextrose solution as indicated; the diluted product should be used immediately.
